​If you are looking for a one day getaway into nature Nevado de Toluca is for you! The volcano is only a one to two hour drive away from Mexico City, is stunningly beautiful and perfect for hiking and discovering nature.
It's last major eruption occurred about 10500 years ago and it is the fourth highest peak of Mexico, just after the Pico de Orizaba, Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl. I definitely recommend that you visit this beauty if you are around, it's a one of a kind experience in Mexico.
