Sugar is the disguised killer of the modern age. More people than ever before are suffering from diseases like diabetes, obesity and hypertension at a younger and younger age.
Nowadays, sugar can be found in literally everything, from granola bars, sodas, "healthy" breakfast cereal, "whole-wheat" bread etc. and the reason for this is quite simple. Like abusive drugs, sugar causes a release of dopamine in the brain. Therefore, sugar can be addictive for a lot of people.
But what can you do about that and what are the alternatives to sugar?
Vegans are exposed to a lot of jokes and discussions. It doesn't matter who it is; family members, friends, acquaintances or society in general, everybody seems to have an opinion on veganism and seems to be afraid that we, vegans, do not get enough nutrients.
Sometimes I feel like people suddenly worry about my nutrition, although they have never worried about me before.
That is why I decided to address the one, probably most-debated question: Where do vegans get protein?
