​Spirulina and especially BLUE spirulina has become increasingly popular over the last years, mainly because of its health benefits but also because of its super intense blue color.
So it is not just nutritious but also beautiful, the perfect combination for a delicious breakfast, don't you think? So let's create one!

Blue spirulina is a blue-green-algae which grows in lakes and other alkaline waterways. 
The blue pigment that gives the algae it's intense color is called phycocyanin, a powerful antioxidant. That is why it has several health benefits like:

1. Removing heavy metals and toxins,
2. Helping improve digestion and bowel health
3. Boosting energy and performance
Besides, blue spirulina, unlike green spirulina, doesn't taste fishy which is a big plus for making delicious recipes. You can add it to waffles, pancakes, beverages, cakes and of course smoothie-bowls, like this delicious Tropical Blue Smoothiebowl.

TROPICAL BLUE SMOOTHIEBOWL
 
Prep time              10 minutes                       
Total time              10 minutes
 
Serves: 1 big portion or 2 small ones
Ingredients
2 frozen bananas
1 cup frozen pineapple
40g fresh mango
1 tsp blue spirulina powder 
1/2 cup coconut water or milk

Instructions
  1. In a high speed blender, blend all the ingredients until the consistency is similar to smooth ice-cream.
  2. Empty all the blue cream into a bowl and top with your favorite tropical fruits.
  3. Enjoy!

​Espirulina y sobre todo la espirulina azul se ha vuelto mas y mas popular durante los ultimos años, sobre todo por sus beneficios para la salud y su color azul super intenso.

​Rinde: 1 porción grande o 2 porciones pequeñas
Ingredientes
2 platanos congelado
1 taza piña congelada
40g mango fresco
1/2 taza leche o agua de coco

Instrucciones
  1. En una licuadora de alta velocidad, licúa todos los ingredientes hasta que la consistencia sea parecida a la de helado.
  2. Ponlo a un bol y agrega tus toppings favoritos.
  3. ​Disfruta.
