CRUNCHY MACA TAHINI GRANOLA

I love breakfast! It is definitely my favourite meal of the day. I mean, for breakfast it is actually socially acceptable to have something dessert-like. Seriously, how awesome is that, right? 

Experimenting with plant-based whole foods, I discovered that I can make a variety of super delicious breakfasts that will not only satisfy my sweet tooth, but also nourish and fuel my body. AMAZING!
So let me go on to telling you about today's super tasty and easy recipe: Maca Tahini Granola.

Since I was a kid I have been a huge fan of any kind of breakfast cereal. Not the healthy kind obviously. Sometimes, I would just grab the box and take out some cereal with my hands and eat it like a snack, usually until the whole package was gone.

That's why I definitely had to find a healthier version of breakfast cereal that can serve perfectly on it's own with some fruit or as a snack or topping of smoothie bowls and other goodies as well.

Why Tahini Maca Granola?

I am huge fan of tahini, I put it on almost everything because of its neutral creamy delicious flavour. It can literally go with anything and serves as an oil substitute ​and at the same time makes the recipe much more interesting flavourwise.
Maca powder is one of my go-tos in smoothies and oatmeal because of its benefits for female hormones and I its vanilla-like flavour.
Hence, I combined the two in this recipe and the result is amazing, believe me.

To sum it up, this granola is:

crunchy
satisfying
oil-free
refined-sugar free
nut-free
gluten-free
healthy
easy to make

​MACA TAHINI GRANOLA
 
Prep time                               Time in the oven                                  Total time
10 mins                                  17-20 mins                                           30 mins
 
Serves: 500g
Ingredients
2 cups glutenfree oats (200g)
1/2 cup flaxseeds (95g)
3/4 cup sunflower seeds (95g)
30g pumpkin seeds
30g chia

50g coconut sugar 
50g tahini
15g maca powder
1 tsp cinnamon
60ml water 
non-stick spray

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 175 C for about 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir thoroughly.
  3. Cover a baking tray with some non-stick spray or a tiny amount of olive oil and place the mixture onto the tray.
  4. Distribute evenly and place into the oven. 
  5. Let cook for about 13 minutes, then take out to move the mixture. Put it back into the oven for another 5 minutes or until golden brown. 
  6. Enjoy with fruits and almond milk or on top of smoothie bowls or as a snack!

Me encanta el desayuno, es definitivamente mi comida favorita del dia. Digo, es de hecho socialmente aceptable comer algo semejante a un postre de desayuno. Que tan increible es eso, verdad?

Gracias a la enorme variedad de alimentos vegetales descubri muchas maneras de hacer platillos deliciosos que no solo satisfacen mi dulce paladar sino tambien cuidan y nutren mi cuerpo. GENIAL!
Entonces dejenme compartirles hoy una receta sabrosa, muy facil y nutritiva: Maca Tahini Granola.

Desde que era pequeña siempre he sido una gran fan del cereal, no del mas saludable debo ser sincera. A veces, solo tomaba la caja y con mis manos me la comia a bocados enormes, usualmente hasta que acabara con todo el paquete.

Es por eso que debia encontrar una version que fuera nutritiva y que pudiera comerla como un snack, sola con fruta y tambien usarla para el topping de mis smoothie bowls asi como en otras delicias.

Porque Tahini Maca Granola?

Soy fan declarada del tahini, lo uso en practicamente todo por su cremoso y neutral sabor. Literalmente puede combinar con lo que sea y sirve como sustituto de aceite en esta receta, ademas de darle un sabor mas interesante.
La maca es un superfood que siempre acompaña mis smoothies, avena etc. por sus beneficios para las hormonas femeninas y por su sabor parecido a la vainilla.
​Entonces, combine estas bellezas en la receta y el resultado es buenisimo, creanme.

Para resumir, esta granola es:
Crujiente
Satisfactoria
Libre de aceites
Sin azucar
Sin nueces
Sin fluten
Saludable
Facil de hacer

MACA TAHINI GRANOLA
 
Tiempo Prep.                         Tiempo en horno                                 Tiempo total
10 mins                                  17-20 mins                                           30 mins
 
Rinde: 500g
Ingredientes
2 tazas avena sin gluten (200g)
1/2 taza linaza (95g)
3/4 cup semillas de girasol (95g)
30g semillas de calabaza
30g chia

50g azucar de coco 
50g tahini
20g maca en polvo
1 tsp canela
60ml agua
spray anti-adherente

Instrucciones
  1. Calienta el horno a 175 C durante 10 minutos.
  2. Mientras, agrega todos los ingredientes a un bol y remueve bien. 
  3. Pon un poco del spray anti-adherente a un recipiente que puede ir al horno y agrega toda la mezcla al recipiente.
  4. Distribuye la mezcla igualmente adentro del recipiente y ponlo al horno. 
  5. Deja hornear durante 13 minutos, luego saca el recipiente y remueve la mezcla. regresa el recipiente al horno y deja hornear 5 minutos mas hasta que se dore bien.
  6. Disfruta con frutas y leche de almendra o ponlo encima de tus smoothie bowls.
