I am wondering how it took me so long to post a recipe with matcha. The popularization of matcha is probably the greatest gift of the 21st century (well along with almond milk, vegan ice-cream, tahini, acai etc.), don't you think? I am definitely super grateful for the discovery of this magic green powder that is not only pretty, but also very versatile and even healthy.
Matcha is packed with antioxidants, vital vitamins and minerals, boosts the metabolism and helps detoxify the body. It is also a natural source of caffeine and helps with concentration and focus. So literally a true magic powder.

And because of my love for matcha, I finally decided to share one of my go-to smoothie recipes with you. It is super refreshing, green in color but not in taste ;) and very creamy and sweet. Besides, it is super easy to make and it could actually also work as a smoothie bowl or a dessert. You only need a blender, a pretty glass jar (very important), a reusable straw and a few ingredients. 

To sum it up, this smoothie is:
creamy
sweet
energizing
nutrient rich
green
refreshing

MATCHA MINT CHOCOLATE SMOOTHIE
 
Prep time                                Total time
4 hours                                    4 hours 
 
Serves: 2
Ingredients
2 large frozen bananas (290 g unfrozen weight)
1 tbsp matcha (5 g)
1 avocado (100 g) 
1/8 cup fresh mint leaves
15 g cacao nibs
1/2 cup ice cubes
2 cups almond milk

Instructions
  1. Freeze banana for about 3 to 4 hours.
  2. Once frozen, put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. If it is too thick, add some more almond milk or water.
  3. Pour into two glass jars, decorate with mint leaves and cacao nibs and enjoy! 

VERSION ESPANOL

​Me pregunto porque me tardé tanto en publicar una receta con matcha. La popularizacion del matcha es probablemente el mejor regalo del siglo 21 (bueno junto con helado vegano, leche de almendra, tahini, acai etc.), no creen? Yo soy definitivamente super agradecida por el descubrimiento de este polvo verde magico que no solamente es bonito, sino tambien versatil y saludable. Matcha es lleno de antioxidantes, vitaminas y minerales, ayuda al metabolismo y la detoxificacion del cuerpo. Es una fuente natural de caffeina y mejora la concentracion y el focus. Asi que literalmente es un polvo magico. 

Por eso finalmente les voy a compartir uno de mis recetas con matcha. Es un smoothie muy refrescante, verde en color pero no en sabor ;), y super cremoso y dulce. Aparte, es facil de hacer y tambien puede funcionar como smoothie bowl o postrecito. Solamente necesitan una licuadora, dos vasos bonitos (muy importante), popotes de bambu o de acero inoxidable y unos pocos ingredientes. 

Para resumir, este smoothie es:
Cremoso
Dulce
Energetico
Lleno de nutrientes
Verde
Refrescante

Rinde: 2
Ingredientes
2 platanos congelados (290 g)
1 cda matcha (5 g)
1 aguacate (100 g) 
1/8 taza menta fresca
15 g cacao nibs
1/2 taza hielo
2 tazas leche de almendra

Instrucciones
  1. Congela el platano durante 3 a 4 horas. 
  2. Una vez congelado, pon todos los ingredientes en una licuadora y licua hasta que este cremoso. Si queda demasiado espeso, añade un poco de leche de almendra. 
  3. Viertelo en dos vasos de vidrio, decora con hojas de menta y mas cacao nibs y disfruta!
